July is Down Payment Resource training month

July will be dedicated to all things Down Payment Resource (DPR)! DPR is currently rolling out a new interface, so now is the perfect time to learn all about this useful, one-of-a-kind tool.

DPR turns home searchers into homeowners by connecting people with hard-to-find financial resources.

Hundreds of millions of dollars in down payment programs are available across the country right now, but most people don’t know where to find them and, in some cases, have no idea that they even exist. With almost 2,300 programs to keep track of, finding one that’s a good match can be daunting, if not impossible.

Down Payment Resource (DPR) creates opportunity for you and your buyers by connecting people with programs that get them into homes.

Keep an eye on our blog and the GAAR Member Facebook group for tips, tricks and more! GAAR Gurus Melody Mar Johnson and Heidi Sergel will be on hand all month to answer your DPR questions. You can even come down to any Open Lab during the month of July to receive one-on-one training from one of the Gurus. Open Lab takes place at GAAR Friday aftertoons from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm.

Also be sure to attend one of our special DPR training sessions at the end of the month. Sean Moss, Senior Vice President of Operations and Support, along with Todd Costigan, Vice President of Customer Relations are coming to GAAR to show our REALTORS® and Affiliate members the advantages of using DPR.

Learn why leading firms in other markets have made this a central part of their client acquisition tactics. The DPR team will show you how easily DPR works in our MLS system. The session focuses on ways to promote the programs and introduce creative ways to reach new homebuyers. We’ll cover:

  • Facts and figures about the programs.
  • Property and buyer requirements.
  • Down Payment Resource tools that are available for you and consumers.
  • DPR on IDX and the DPR widgets.

A special lunch hosted by MFA will take place after the training (from 12 pm - 1 pm).

As an Affiliate of GAAR, we want to help you and our brokers turn home lookers into homebuyers!  Many of you still don’t know about an amazing program called Down Payment Resource (DPR) – a web-based software company whose mission is to connect people with hard-to-find financial resources.  As a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, DPR helps lenders and their referral partners create homeownership opportunities for buyers by connecting eligible homebuyers to available homeownership programs and down payment assistance funds they may not have otherwise known existed. 

The training session will cover:

  • Available products and programs.
  • Facts and figures about the programs.
  • Property and buyer requirements.
  • Collaborating with REALTORS® and their clients.
  • Tips to expand awareness of, and access to homebuyer programs.
  • Programs for down payment, closing costs, grants, tax credits and more.
  • Down Payment Resource tools that are available to assist you, REALTORS® and consumers.

Affiliate members are also encouraged to attend the special MFA hosted lunch taking place before the class from 12 pm – 1 pm.
