Area 110 is located on the Westside of Albuquerque, moving west from the Rio Grande River to the volcanic peaks visible from the rest of the city. This includes parts of Albuquerque, Taylor Ranch, Paradise Hills and newer developments near the Petroglyphs. The Area boundaries are defined as east of Paseo del Volcan, South of Paseo del Norte, West of Coors Blvd and North of Unser Blvd.

The City of Albuquerque reports there are ten Neighborhood Associations located in the Northwest Heights. The Northwest Heights Area is part of the Volcano High school district. Within this public school district are three elementary schools (Chamiza, Marie Hughes and Tierra Antigua), one middle school (LBJ), and one high school (Volcano Vista).

A variety of community resources and businesses serve this area, including ten city parks and one public library. Access to Interstate 40, Cottonwood Mall, Double Eagle Airport, Route 66 Casino and the Petroglyph State Park is only minutes by car or bus. The City bus system provides access to two Park and Ride locations in Area 110.
