Neighborhood Spotlight - Barelas
The Barelas neighborhood is one of the first communities formed in Albuquerque. This neighborhood maintains close ties to Albuquerque Hispanic roots, offers a rich cultural history and has also seen major revitalization efforts in the last twenty years. It is home to the National Hispanic Cultural Center, South Broadway Cultural Center and the Rio Grande Zoo.
The Barelas district is located within two SWMLS Areas, Area 80 (Downtown) and Area 90 (Near South Valley). The boundaries are defined as being south of Coal, west of the railroad tracks, east of Rio Grande river and north of Woodward.
Housing Statistics. Data is based on detached, single-family homes and attached, condos/townhomes in parts of MLS areas 80 and 90.
