GAAR is proud to honor REALTOR® Cassandra Morrison as a recipient of the Good Neighbor Award for her dedicated volunteer work with Pursonalities Plus ABQ. Good Neighbors are REALTORS® or Affiliates who go above and beyond in serving their communities through volunteer efforts, contributing not only donations and gifts but also their time and commitment to charitable causes.


The Good Neighbor program not only highlights the outstanding efforts of individuals and their chosen charities but also aims to raise awareness of the positive influence REALTORS® have within the community. Through their dedication, these professionals make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Empowering Women in Need

Pursonalities Plus ABQ is a local charity dedicated to helping women in Albuquerque who are facing difficult times. Their mission is to provide women with personal care items, handbags, and hygiene products to restore dignity and confidence during challenging seasons of their lives. This small gesture makes a big impact, offering hope and practical support to those in need.

Through donations of handbags filled with essential items, Pursonalities Plus ABQ supports women who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, or other hardships. These bags include toiletries, hygiene products, and other personal items that can make a world of difference in someone’s day.

The Handbag Drive

A handbag drive consists of collecting gently used or new handbags and filling them with personal care items such as toiletries, hygiene products, and more. These bags are then distributed to local shelters, women's centers, and outreach programs. Volunteers help assemble the bags and ensure they are delivered to women who need them the most.

Ways to Help
  1. Hold a Handbag Drive at Your Office
    Content List for each Handbag:
    • 1 gently used or new handbag
    • 1 toothbrush
    • 1 tube of toothpaste
    • 1 deodorant 1 hairbrush or comb
    • 1 bar of soap or body wash
    • 1 small bottle of shampoo and conditioner
    • 1 package of feminine hygiene products
    • 1 lip balm
    • 1 hand sanitizer

Do you know a Good Neighbor? Nominations will open on October 1st.

In 2015, we introduced the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Awards – a program that NAR encourages local Associations to develop in coordination with the REALTOR® Magazine Good Neighbor Awards.

GAAR Good Neighbor Awards are open to all GAAR members, both REALTOR® and Affiliate, who dedicate themselves to volunteer service. Four REALTOR® recipients and one Affiliate recipient are awarded.

Recipients receive a $1,000 grant for their charity and are featured in GAAR's consumer outreach campaign.
