Beginning Wednesday, January 3rd, the year a property was built will become a required field in FlexMLS.

This will affect minimal listings as the Year Built is generally auto-populated from tax records and in the past two years, only 100 listings did not include the detail. In addition, optional fields are being added - Year Built Details and Year Built Source fields so Listing Brokers can provide disclosures as needed.

2.  Year Built Source (choices within this field):

• Appraiser
• Assessor
• Builder
• Other
• Owner
• Public Records
• See Remarks

3.  Age will no longer be a required field

Optional Fields Added

1.  Year Built Details (open text field for comments)

2.  Year Built Source Details (open text field for comments)

This field change is another effort of SWMLS to standardize our data to Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) standards.
