Good neighbors are Realtors and affiliates who dedicate themselves to volunteer service. They donate gifts, money and most importantly – a lot of time to their charity.
“One of the things I found out as board president is just how much realtors do for the community. We have so many of our members that spend countless hours, and their money working with different charities around the city.
“Last year at our annual meeting, we selected five realtors that we chose as our ‘Good Neighbors’ and we gave them a ‘Good Neighbor’ award and throughout this year we’ve been honoring those realtors for the good work they do,” says Jon Schnoor the 2016 President of the Greater Association of Realtors, or GAAR.
One of the organization honorees this past year was Silver Horizons.
Robert Boverie, Silver Horizons Board President says, “Silver Horizons is the only non-profit in the area that solely benefits senior citizens.”
“We serve seniors in three different ways,” Boverie says, explaining the work Silver Horizons does for the community, “with food, with utility assistance, and with repairs to their home.”
If you’d like to provide assistance to this organization, they are located at: 3520 Pan American Fwy NE; their telephone contact number is (505) 800-1400.
The organization will be hosting their yearly Gala fundraiser on November 15th at the Marriott Pyramid from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
