GAAR is partnering with Rotary Del Sol to help ABQ Tours this fall. Both organizations will share a $4250 donation for their non-profits but we need your help filling volunteer roles. 

Meet potential clients, learn ABQ Ghost History & earn money for the REALTOR® Fund!

ABQ Tours provides the public and visitors Ghost Tours of Old Town on the weekends each fall for six weeks. Tours range in size from 10 to 30 guests with up to five Tour groups operating at the same time. A volunteer's primary duties will be to ensure guest satisfaction and safety and to assist the Professional Tour Guides during a 2-hour Ghost Story Tour.

Ghost Tour of Old Town
Friday, Saturday & Sunday from September 23rd through October 30th
7:15 pm to 12:15 am
(Tours start at 8 pm. On the last 3 Fridays & Saturdays in October, an additional 10 pm tour is added)

Select only the dates you can volunteer for!

The Professional Tour Guides need 4 volunteers for each tour to assist with the following:

• Being a Host/Hostess while greeting, mingling, and taking souvenir photos for guests before and after each Tour
• Assisting the Professional Tour Guide with all tour operations from start to finish
• Helping to ensure safe street crossings
• Highlighting all potential trip hazards on uneven surfaces with a flashlight
• Keeping an accurate count of the number of guests at each stop
• Notifying the Tour Guide of any encroaching Tour group coming up behind them, as well as keeping an eye on the Tour group in front to maintain a smooth transition from stop to stop with no undue 'waiting'

In addition:

• Volunteers are REQUIRED to attend training.  A Group Training is scheduled for Friday, September 23rd from 7:15 pm to 11:15 pm. If you cannot make that session, please contact Misty at ABQ Tours to arrange another date.
• Volunteers must bring their own working flashlight
• Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age
• Volunteers do not qualify for any gratuities
• Volunteer experience and comfort with using an electronic DVD player and speaker preferred
• Volunteers must present a clean and professional appearance (required T-shirts provided and returned for each shift)
• Volunteers can be rotated throughout the period though it is preferable, but not mandatory, that Volunteers are the same four individuals each night.
