Good Neighbor awardee Kurstin Johnson speaks on the Heart Gallery’s work
By Audrey Claire Davis, New Mexico Living
Realtors are more than just people who help you buy or sell a home; they are friends, neighbors, and active participants in the community. That is why the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors honors realtors who go above and beyond with its Good Neighbor Award.
One awardee, Kurstin Johnson with Vista Encantada Realtors, is making a big difference in the community through her work with the Heart Gallery of New Mexico Foundation. The Heart Gallery aims to find loving, permanent homes for foster children in New Mexico and empower those who age out of the system.
Johnson was adopted as a child and felt the need to help children out of unstable family situations. In her role as a realtor, Johnson raises money to fund grants for the Heart Gallery. Those grants make a huge difference in the lives of New Mexicans, taking the pressure off affording basic necessities like apartment down payments, haircuts, home essentials, and more.
