A little history
For more than 20 years, millions of volunteers across the nation have united on Make a Difference Day - the largest national day of community service - with a common mission to do good and make a difference.
GAAR's Affiliates joined the cause in 2013 and set a record at Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico when they packaged over 4,900 pounds of pasta in less than 3 hours. The next year the Affiliates not only returned to Roadrunner Food Bank but also challenged GAAR's REALTORS® to join them in making a difference.
Today a friendly annual competition ensues to see who can make a bigger difference: REALTORS® or Affiliates.
About Road Runner Food Bank
Roadrunner Food Bank provides food assistance to 70,000 hungry people every week through a network of partner agencies and hunger-relief programs all over New Mexico. It takes a small army of volunteers to make it possible for us to distribute more than 130,000 pounds of food during the work week. The work our New Mexico Food Bank provides to hungry people across the state would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers, especially those in large groups.
You must be at least 6 years of age and have a good attitude, wear closed toed shoes, be able to do light physical work, including standing and lifting boxes. They will show you how to do the rest!
