This year the GAAR Board of Directors has taken the first steps in joining the National Association of REALTORS® in providing guidance and support to diversity initiatives to recognize and address diversity, equity, and inclusion by creating a committee that will provide you with resources to expand your worldview, tools to recognize your own biases, and meaningful steps to convey respect and fairness in your business relationships.

These concepts go beyond legal requirements to treat all clients equally and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics zero tolerance for discrimination. NAR has championed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for years but today's disparity among homeownership rates provides a clear motivation for all of us to embrace DEI in our businesses—and in everything we do.

If you would like to be part of this cultural shift to create a sense of belonging among members at GAAR and our community, please consider joining GAAR's Advancing, Belonging, Community and Diversity Committee. The committee is open to all members and meets monthly on the second Friday each month.
