The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy recently released their 2015 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard. New Mexico fell to 31st, tying with Montana, with 13 out of 50 points. This is a drop from 22nd in 2010, 27th in 2012 and 25 in 2014.

According to ACEEE, New Mexico's lower score can be attributed to limited funding for and energy savings from utility energy efficiency programs, weak support for energy efficiency in the transportation sector and a lack of an up-to-date building energy code. Click here to read the full article.
