The Annual Meeting will be held to consider Amendments to the Bylaws, review Financial Reports, approve Minutes from the 2018 Annual Meeting, and install the GAAR and SWMLS 2020 Officers and Directors.

Amendment to the Bylaws of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®

On October 23, 2019, at the regular meeting of the GAAR Board of Directors, the following GAAR Bylaw amendment was approved. This will serve as notice to comply with the 30-day notification requirement as noted in the GAAR Bylaws to facilitate final approval by the general membership at the GAAR Annual Meeting.

Article XVI - Amendments

Section 1. These Bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the Members attending in person or by written proxy and qualified to vote at any meeting at which a quorum is present, provided the substance of such proposed amendment or amendments shall be plainly stated in the call for the meeting, except that the Board of Directors may, at any regular or special meeting of the Board of Directors at which a quorum is present, approve amendments to the Bylaws which are mandated by NAR policy.

Change all references regarding Executive Vice President (EVP) title to Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
 
Rationale: Many if not most local REALTOR® associations with a membership of a similar size as GAAR and such broad job responsibilities will employ a Chief Executive Officer as the chief staff position. Changing the title of the chief staff position to Chief Executive Officer creates consistency with the New Mexico State Association (NMAR) and other associations around the country.
