Construction on the GAAR Office is in full swing!

AIC General Contractor, Inc. began reconstruction in late November. Here is some of the progress:

• A temporary wall installed to minimize sound for employees
• A contractor's entrance, parking, and material delivery were established
• Interior demolition was completed
• A sanitary sewer was dug
• Electrical, mechanical, and plumbing rough-in begun
• Interior framing has begun
• Exterior demolition has begun

Office Construction FAQs

What services are affected?

• All office areas north of the entrance have been demolished.
• Committee Meetings have reverted to ZOOM or in-person at 1645 University (N. of the office). Be sure to confirm with your Committee Chair in the event other accommodations have been secured.

What services will not be affected?

• Lockbox pick up and drop off. Call ahead for faster service. 
• CE courses will continue via ZOOM.
• GAAR & SWMLS Staff are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Completion date?

We anticipate substantial completion of the project by the end of May 2023. There may be additional delays as we navigate supply chain issues affecting the construction industry.

What can members expect in the new building?

• 50% more classroom capacity
• 60-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated entrance
• Classrooms and auditorium to accommodate 350
• Dedicated boardroom
• Podcast studio
• Expanded member kitchen with seating area
• Meeting spaces will have an open contemporary layout 
• LED lighting will be installed throughout
• Electric vehicle charging station in the back parking lot
