Last week, over 150 joined us at the KiMo Theatre for our first public REinvent Speaker Series..."Become the Change"with Arun Gandhi.
With humor and humility, the soft-spoken Arun Gandhi shared personal stories and valuable lessons learned from his grandfather, the legendary Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Gandhi explained how living with his grandfather in his early years influenced his life. After Mahatma’s assassination, Arun also shared how he decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps, sharing his message of peace, nonviolence and respect.
With the underlying message that we all contribute directly or indirectly to the violence we see in the world, Mr. Gandhi explained how we each have the power to create peace through mindfulness in every interaction and personal relationship, both large and small.
The audience had a chance to ask questions, meet with Mr. Gandhi personally and have books signed. Mr. Gandhi's books and work help raise funds for the poor through the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.
If you would like to hear Mr. Gandhi’s message, we will be sharing here and GAAR's FaceBook page this week.
