Supra 2.0 Implementation Event - February 9-11

The Supra 2.0 Library Lockbox Plan Implementation Event will be held at the Marriott Pyramid on February 9th-11th.

At the event, you will be provided with Supra's latest lockbox technology the bluetooth enabled iBox BT LE – at no charge.

For most members, the current lockboxes are nearly 10 years old and failing quickly. Supra no longer manufactures the box and will be discontinuing their support. Therefore, GAAR has worked closely with Supra to bring you their newest technology at the lowest cost to each member and to the Association as a whole.

While completing the due diligence last year, the Board of Directors quickly realized that there were over 20,000 boxes in our market. Yet, the highest number of active and pending listings at any given point over the past 8 years was only around 6,500. The disconnect was obvious.

The solution was a matter of basic economics. If GAAR can do a better job of controlling inventory and eliminate idle boxes, we can save $1 million over the 6-year life of the contract.

Since each box costs about $150, it simply made no financial sense to pay for boxes that won’t be used.

To provide the most cost effective and convenient plan for members and the Association, the GAAR Board negotiated a new plan with Supra that:

  • Ensures you have more than enough lockboxes for your listings
  • Provides new bluetooth lockboxes for FREE when you need them
  • Reduces key fees for eKey users
  • Rolls out the new technology at the Implementation Event 

So, in early February, GAAR will be rolling out Supra 2.0 – the new Lockbox Library Plan. Under the new program, rather than lease lockboxes, members simply check them out from GAAR similar to a library system. If you are participating in the lockbox program, this ensures you will always have enough lockboxes for your listings.

Program Basics

  • Each listing agent will have a base allotment of boxes – calculated as the highest number of listings in the past 5 months plus a 30%.
  • If you still need more, simply come to the GAAR Building and get one (or more if you need them). 
  • Once a year, we will have you bring in those excess lockboxes that you aren't using. 
  • Eliminates fobs since the new technology is blue-tooth enabled.
