Resources to Help Ruidoso Fire Victims

The Ruidoso community is experiencing a devastating challenge due to the ongoing wildfires. These fires have wreaked havoc, displacing families, and causing unimaginable hardship. 

The Otero County Association of REALTORS® has sent an urgent plea to assist those affected by the fires. Your generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors who have lost so much.

Essential Items Urgently Needed (New Items please)

  • Non-Perishable Food Items
  • Baby Formula, Wipes & Diapers (all sizes)
  • Toiletry Items (Shampoo, Lotion, Soap, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Lip Balm, Female Hygiene Products, etc.,)
  • Dog & Cat Food
  • Towels, Blankets & Pillows
  • Gallon Ziplock Bags
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Board Games, Puzzles, Cards, etc.,

  • Reusable Grocery Bags
  • Extension Cords & Phone Chargers

These items are critical in meeting the immediate needs of the victims and ensuring they have basic necessities.

Ways to Make a Monetary Donation

A 501(c)(3) sustainable fund was created to support local charities.
Funded by REALTOR® & Affiliate Members & events, it's held by the Albuquerque Community Foundation.

ln addition to the $25,000 donation approved by the GAAR Board of Directors, all additional incoming funds up to $25,000 will be earmarked for the Emergency Relief Fund, a subset of the REALTOR® Fund that provides support for victims of major disasters in New Mexico.

The Shelter Fund was established to assist members of the community who have experienced hardship due to unforeseen disasters such as fire or flooding
