On the previous edition of gaar.com, your big special events – like the Golf Tournament, Awards Gala, Member Forums, etc. – were presented to you maybe a month before the event on the education calendar and in hard-to-find blogs.

With the new and improved website, we want you to be in control of accessing the information you want, when you want it.

That is why we created the Special Events section of the website. We will still add the events to our Education Calendar, include them in Weekly Passport and send you direct email communications, but now you can simply go to the Special Events page to learn about events months out.

To get to the Special Events page, simply hover over "News & Events" on the main navigation. When you see the megamenu dropdown, select "Special Events" and click. 

Once on the Special Events page, you will see images for most of our special events for 2017 (we still have more to add, like the GAAR Grande Open House Weekends).

While you will probably recognize most of the names, some may be new to you – like "First Wednesdays."

Because GAAR's big complimentary education events (like the Affiliate Q&A, the Member Forum, and now the new Marketing Workshop) are always scheduled on the first Wednesday of the month, we decided to make it easy for you to remember by marketing GAAR's First Wednesdays. That way you know to keep the first Wednesday morning open on your schedule each month. I think you get the point.

To navigate to the First Wednesdays  event page, simply click on its image.

The event page will provide everything you need to know about the upcoming event, including schedule, location, cost, location and registration button.

The next First Wednesday event is the Member Forum on risk management. After February's event is over, the March  First Wednesday event, a marketing workshop on business etiquette, will show in its place. Of course, you can still search events on the Education Calendar as well. 

Other Special Events include:

• The Affiliate After Hour Mixer  – held from 5pm - 7pm on the 2nd Thursday every other month
• The Annual Meeting – always on the First Wednesday of December
• Awards Gala – coming up on Friday, March 3rd. Tickets will be on sale within the next  couple of  weeks, but you can go there now to download award nomination packets.
• Bowl-A-thon – to be held on October 21st
• Golf Tournament – on Friday, June 2nd
• Leadership Development Program (LDP) – which kicks off tomorrow
• Lunch & Learn – complimentary classes to prepare you in your role as a business owner
• Make A Difference Day – REALTORS® face off against Affiliates & Benefit Partners to see who can make the biggest difference at a local charity
• Run for the Zoo – Volunteer to help keep participants safe along the route – and cheer them on – on Sunday, May 7th
• Toastmasters – GAAR/CARNM now have a private Toastmasters Club open to all members and staff of GAAR and CARNM.  Come check it out from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month.
