This is a 3-hour course designed for real estate agents, which will incorporate sections of the NAR Code of Ethics, especially Articles 12 and 15 We will review general guidelines concerning advertising, including Internet sources such as Facebook, X, Linkedin, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify ethical dilemmas which present themselves in the Internet age.
2. Understand how Facebook, X, Linkedin and other similar sites are marketing efforts, and as such, must comply with state laws, and if the agent is a REALTOR®, the NAR Code of Ethics.
3. Identify privacy concerns for both agents and consumers in Internet marketing.
Melanie McLane is a second-generation REALTOR®, who is an appraiser, broker and educator. Recently awarded REALTOR® Emeritus status, she has been in real estate all of her adult life. She has written numerous courses, both for her own use, and for other educational companies including Hondros College, NAR, and several state realtor associations. Her local association has honored her with the "Spirit Award", the "Outstanding Achievement Award" and twice with "REALTOR® of the Year".
