At Home With Diversity® Certification - Core Elective
7 CE (Core Elective)
The course work for the At Home with Diversity® certification is designed to enable you to work successfully with and within a rapidly changing multicultural market. It will help you to learn diversity sensitivity, how it applies to U.S. fair housing laws in your business, and ways to develop professional guidelines for working with people in the increasingly multicultural real estate market.

- Credit towards the ABR®, CIPS, and PMN designations
Additional requirements after completion of course:
- Member must be in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS®
- One-time application fee of $40
- There is no exam requirement for the AHWD Course
Once you've earned the AHWD certification, you will also be an International REALTOR® Member of NAR for the balance of that calendar year.
About your Instructor
Baro Shalizi has been a Realtor® since 1992 starting in property management. He joined Christopher Webster Real Estate as an Associate Broker and subsequently was affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty. In 1999, Baro opened his own Brokerage, Shalizi Real Estate.
He continually pursues real estate knowledge and holds the following designations and certifications: ABR, AHWD, CIPS, CRS, e-PRO, GREEN, GRI, RSPS, SFR, SRES, TRC.
Baro is certified to teach a number of classes for both the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and the New Mexico Real Estate Commission (NMREC).
Baro served five years on the Education Steering Committee for the NMREC and was President of SFAR in 2008. In 2015 he served as President of RANM.
Baro has served on numerous committees for RANM and has Chaired: Budget and Finance, Bylaws, Forms, International, and Strategic Planning.
For the National Association of Realtors®, he has served as President’s Liaison to India and Bulgaria, on the Global Presidential Advisory Group, Strategic Thinking Advisory Committee, Global Advisory Committee, International Networks Advisory Group, Professional Development Committee, GRI Program Peer Review Group, Resort and Second Home Real Estate Committee, Certified International Property Specialist Advisory Group, International Operations Committee, Subject matter expert for the Diversity Committee, Meetings & Conferences Committee, and Risk Management. In 2017, Baro served on the NAR’s Expanded Leadership Team, served a two-year term on the Strategic Thinking Advisory Committee, and currently serves as Chair of NAR’s Global Business Alliances Committee. He has served on the NAR’s Board or Directors since 2015.
Baro is a graduate of Leadership RANM, the NAR Leadership Academy and the NAR Mediator Training Program....In 2005, Baro was named Realtor of the Year by the Santa Fe Association of Realtors for his outstanding ethics, knowledge of real estate and contributions both to the Realtor Community and the community at large.
