April Home Sales Highest Since 2007
Albuquerque, NM, April 23, 2013 – Sales of single family detached homes for the month of April rose 20.7% over April of 2012 making it the highest April sales month since 2007. April 2013 also saw the highest number of pending sales since May 2006, with a 23.8% increase from the same month the previous year.
April had the highest number of new listings entering the market since June 2010, a 14.38 % increase from the previous year. The average sales price for single family detached home was $197,908, a reduction of 6.3 % over the prior year.
“The April sales numbers are a good start to the summer months which have traditionally been the highest sales months of the year,” said Julie Greenwood, 2013 President of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®. “Affordability has never been better, with nearly 80% of homes selling for $249,000 and under” she added.
