CENTRAL NM REALTOR ASSOCIATION USHERS IN 2016 WITH NEW FACES
Albuquerque, NM (December 1, 2015) – At their upcoming Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 2nd, the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors (GAAR) and their wholly-owned subsidiary, Southwest Multiple Listing Service (SWMLS), will install 2016 Presidents Jon Schnoor and Joe Schumerth respectively.
Each year, GAAR and SWMLS hold their Annual Meeting where the new officers and board of directors are installed and gratitude is shown to both the outgoing board members and the many member volunteers that dedicate their time, not just to the association, but to the community as well.
Chartered in 1921, the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors has grown to over 3,000 members, making it one of the oldest and largest professional trade associations in Central New Mexico. Incoming President, Jon Schnoor of The Casa Group, will be the 95th president to take the reins of this long standing non-profit. Jon will serve with President-Elect Don Martindell of American Realty, Vice President Danny Wm. Vigil of Coldwell Banker Legacy, Treasurer Paul Billingham of Keller Williams Realty and Past President Paul Wilson of eXp Realty.
The directors serving on GAAR’s board include Rich Cederberg of eXp Realty, Jean Duran of Realty One of New Mexico, Sherry Fowler of Signature Southwest Properties, Rosie Harmon of Coldwell Banker Legacy, Bridget Hazen of Nest Realty, John Lopez of Coldwell Banker Legacy, Daniel Martinez of Berkshire Hathaway ALLSTAR, Steve Murtha of Keller Williams Realty and Steve Radolinski also of Keller Williams Realty.
GAAR’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SWMLS is the organization the oversees the residential property listing service that is accessed by realtors and homebuyers. SWMLS ensures that the public has access to accurate, high-quality listing data for the Greater Albuquerque housing market. Governing the organization will be incoming SWMLS President Joe Schumerth of eXp Realty. Joe will be serving with Vice President Tego Venturi of Keller Williams Realty, Treasurer Alice Tozer also of Keller Williams Realty, Past President AJ Yarborough of AJ Yarbrough Realty and GAAR President Jon Schnoor of The Casa Group.
The directors serving on SWMLS board include Kay Azbill of Coldwell Banker Legacy, Cathy Colvin of Vista Encantada Realtors, Mary Kay Gutierrez of Coldwell Banker Legacy, Bonsal Henry of Residential Appraisals Inc., Hubert H. Hill, II of ERA Sellers & Buyers Real Estate, JoLynn Kniffin also of ERA Sellers & Buyers Real Estate, Damon Maddox of Maddox Management, Jim Pitts of Berkshire Hathaway NM Properties and James Sutton of Century 21 Unica.
During the Annual Meeting, GAAR members also show their gratitude to the community they serve through charitable giving and will be presenting over $36,700 to local charities through the Realtor Fund of the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors. This year, the recipient charities include APS Title 1 Homeless Project, NM Kids Matter, Boys and Girls Club of New Mexico, and Albuquerque Heading Home, to name a few. The association will also honor members that have dedicated much of their free time to local non-profits. Including the 2015 donations, the GAAR, SWMLS and the Realtor Fund will have gifted $184,900 to local-non profits since 2009.
