Albuquerque, NM, July 22, 2013 – Sales of detached single family homes for the quarter ended June, 2013 were 2,526 and marks the highest sales for the quarter since 2008. Closed sales for the 2nd quarter of 2013 were 21.97 percent over the same quarter in 2012.
New listings in the second quarter were up 17.48 percent from 2nd Quarter 2012. Home prices for detached single family homes fell slightly from the same period last year with the average sale price down 1.09 percent to $207,491. Median sales price for detached single family homes was down 2.02 percent to $170,000.
“The strong listing and sales activity occurring in the real estate market right now is a great improvement over the last couple of years,” said Julie Greenwood, President of the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS®. “Affordability has never been better,” said Greenwood. “Add to this the favorable interest rates and the homes in our market are now available to more people than ever,” she continued.
